I Wish I Knew Then
What I Know Now
Hi, I'm Natalie!
I’m a food writer and photographer, recipe developer and holistic nutritionist. Dedicated to showing you the ways you can use food and lifestyle choices to get out of pain and back to living the life you want.
My passion in life has always been tied to food. I was a picky eater growing up (cheese sandwiches were too much so my mom had to resort to butter sandwiches). But desserts, now those I would eat. It’s no wonder I became a sous chef, pastry chef and cake decorator. I loved culinary school. Flour, butter, sugar, dairy, eggs … Oh, the things that I can create with those 5 ingredients. I spread my wings, worked in many restaurants, ran my own business and started writing for magazines creating recipes and food photography. I loved being immersed in all things food until…In April 2018, a doctor said to me "You have aggressive rheumatoid arthritis. I’m sorry."
The first wealth is health.
Finding Another Way
Even though I’ve always believed food is important for health as well as taste, I have to admit, I had my own doubts that changing my eating habits would improve my symptoms and knock down disease activity.
I remember thinking, “Can food really make that much of a difference?” Inside I knew there was something I could do to help my body. However, it took me 6 months to give myself permission to try.
And it turns out, there is another way.
If you are searching for more holistic solutions, you’re not crazy, difficult or high maintenance. You don’t need anyone’s permission to take control of your health and your life.
I believe (and have experienced) the ability of food to help support the body and reduce or eliminate symptoms. So much so, I went back to school to figure out how to harness its power. And now, I help others create their own personal eating style so they can feel their best.
Health & Happiness,
Natalie
